Partial Dentures

What are Partial Dentures?

Partial dentures Buderim are designed to sit between your remaining teeth.
They can cover almost your entire mouth or just replace 1 or 2 missing teeth.

What are Partial Dentures made of?

The bulk of your partial denture will be made of either acrylic or valplast.

Denture Acrylic is a rigid material that does not flex and will not react with your mouth.
It does not stain easily or change shape, but can be affected by how it is maintained, temperature or shock forces, such as when dropped.

Valplast is a nylon-resin material that does flex. If dropped, it is unlikely to break and comes with a lifetime warranty on the material itself.

How do Partial Dentures stay in place?

Typically, a partial acrylic denture will use stainless steel clasps, or it can be combined with a metal skeleton called chrome.
A valplast denture has invisible clasping that hugs the gumline and is typically up to 2/3rds smaller than an equivalent acrylic.

Some partial dentures use their size across the palate to create some suction.

John Willshire Dental with our partial dentures will be able to advise you what best suits your particular situation.

What stages does a Partial Denture have?

There are a few different ways to have your partial denture constructed.

You may get a small partial done in as little as 2-3 visits, though typically you will need around 3-5 depending on your particular situation.

If you do need something very quickly, we still have options.

Come visit us at John Willshire Dental and we’ll be able to discuss these with you.
